NOTES
1. Finished Measurements - Chick measures approx. 2in(5cm) Egg Shell measures approx. 4in(10cm)
2. Pattern is worked in continuous rounds (unless stated otherwise). Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
3. When a decrease or increase stitch is listed, work in the same manner as stitches in that round.
4. Invisible decrease is used for decrease stitches and Yarn Under method is used for single crochet stitches

Egg Shell - 7mm Hook
With Shell color
R1 - 8sc into magic circle (8)
R2 - sc, inc, rep around (12)
R3-R5 - sc around (12)
Note - Chain loosely, we want the chain to
line up with round 4.
R6 - sc, ch10, sk10, sc (12 including ch's)
R7 - sc around (including each ch-sp) (12)
R8 - sc around (12)
R9 - sc, dec, rep around (8)
R10 - dec around (4)
Cut a long tail, with darning needle weave
through remaining sts and pull tight t o
close. Secure thread.
Chick Body - 5.50mm Hook
With Body color
R1 - 6sc into magic circle (6)
R2 - inc, sc, rep around (9)
R3-R5 - sc around (9)
Attach eyes between rounds 2&3, 2sts apart (If you prefer, embroider eyes after stuffed and finished.)
R6 - sc, dec, rep around (6)
Lightly stuff.
Cut a long tail, with darning needle weave through remaining sts and pull tight to close. Secure thread and pull tail through body.
Beak
With the orange yarn insert hook from the back side of the Chick's body, embroider 2 horizontal lines along round 3, centered between the eyes. Pull the thread back to the same spot it was first inserted.
Tie both strands into a knot and secure thread through the body.
Feet - 5.50mm Hook
With the orange yarn insert hook between rounds 5&6, directly under one eye. Place a slip knot on the hook and pull the slip knot through.
Ch 1, fasten off and secure thread through the body. Repeat on the opposite side, approx. 1 stitch away from the first leg.
Head Feathers
With approx. 8in(20cm) of the fur yarn on the darning needle, weave across the top of round 1, about 4 times. Securing the thread the same way as the beak
